Meet Dr. Mikella Valvano, your dedicated eye care specialist with a passion for helping patients see the world more clearly. Although born and raised in St. Catharines, in 2020 she completed her undergraduate education at the University of Guelph where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Bio-Medical Sciences with honours. Dr. Valvano continued her post graduate studies in Boston Massachusetts and in 2024 she received her Doctor of Optometry degree with clinical and academic honours from the esteemed New England College of Optometry. Throughout her fourth year of clinical rotations, Dr. Valvano was privileged to train across the United States in a diverse practice of optometric care.
This instruction included a focus in pediatrics, binocular vision, managing complex ocular disease including diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration and glaucoma and co-managing post cataract and Lasik patients. She has finally returned back to her roots and is ready and enthusiastic to carefully address the ocular health of all her patients. Dr. Valvano is an avid proponent of continuous learning and keeping up with the latest technology and advancements in eye care and is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists, the Canadian Association of Optometrists and the College of Optometry of Ontario.
